I am an artist based in Glasgow. I studied art at Duncan of Jordanstone later training as a primary school teacher. I loved working with children, and feel my time teaching has influenced my work greatly.

I work in a mixture of acrylic and oil painting. Sometimes starting with a bold abstract in the background and using oils on top of this to add in a layer of realism to the painting.

My work is influenced by my children and the desire to remain playful as we grow older. I aim to make joyful artworks often with a hint of nostalgia that make people smile.

My most recent works are a tongue in cheek take on the idea that abstract art requires no skill. That it is so simple even a child could do it. The idea came to me when my son asked “Why is that in a gallery because I could do it?” However to be a child and to go back to that playful abandon of throwing paint and smearing it with our hands without artistic hang ups is the goal of every artist. .

My work has been exhibited with ING Discerning eye in London.
